Prof. Hwasoo Yeo Invited to the Smart Mobility Center Global Cities Summit in Toronto, Canada

From September 9 to 11, 2026, Professor Hwasoo Yeo attended the "Smart Mobility Center Global Cities Summit" held in Toronto, Canada, upon official invitation. The summit brought together public-sector leaders, global industry partners, and mobility researchers from major cities worldwide to discuss the future of sustainable urban mobility and next-generation multimodal transportation management systems.

During the event, Professor Yeo presented cutting-edge "Mobility Digital Twin" and "AI-powered Traffic Signal Optimization" technologies developed by the KAIST research team. Highlighting advanced smart mobility solutions capable of analyzing, predicting, and controlling complex urban traffic congestion in real time, he engaged in in-depth discussions with global experts to foster international academic exchange and collaborative innovation for future urban transportation systems.

Prof. Hwasoo Yeo Visits Ho Chi Minh City at the Invitation of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung — Railway Seminar Presentatio

From September 2 to 5, 2026, Professor Hwasoo Yeo visited Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, at the official invitation of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS), where he participated in a railway-focused seminar and took part in an advisory discussion on the city's urban railway development projects.

During the visit, on September 3, Prof. Yeo attended the International Conference "Railway as a Strategic Backbone for Mobility Transformation," jointly organized by the Vietnamese-German University (VGU) and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung.

At the seminar, Prof. Yeo shared Korea's advanced experience in railway policy, operations, and maintenance (O&M), and presented insights on global trends in smart railway technologies and their implications. The subsequent advisory discussion focused on Ho Chi Minh City's ongoing urban rail network development, with an in-depth exchange of policy recommendations.

NSF IRES 2026

Prof. Yeo participated as a Korean Partner Professor in the NSF IRES Fellowship program (Generative AI Predictive Analytics: Towards Smart City), held at KAIST from June 29 to July 24.

The program concluded successfully, with several promising manuscripts soon to be submitted to TRB 2027. We cross our fingers for another fruitful meeting in Washington, D.C., next year! Special congratulations to Keunhee Cho and Eric Yoon for their outstanding teamwork.
